School Dropout Rates

In regards to your article (“Brea Olinda School District Boasts O.C.’s Lowest Dropout Rate,” March 22): If all districts in Orange County changed students’ grades, no one else would have a high dropout rate either.
How typical of the Brea district to publicize a low dropout rate when just a few months ago they were involved in a grade-changing scandal. How can any newspaper, educator, parent or college admissions office trust what Brea Olinda High School calls an education? When grades have been changed without teacher approval or knowledge, it threatens to destroy the core of the academic process.
