Kampgrounds of America is offering a Passport to Spring Savings program, which can save frequent campers up to 25% on campground fees between April 17 and May 25. Thirty-two of KOA’s 33 California sites are participating. California base rates average about $18 a night, going to about $22 a night for full utility hookups. On average, one-room cabins run about $30 a night. Travelers must have a $10 KOA Value Kard to obtain the discount. Cards are good for two years and are available at all campgrounds. Campers receive a 10% discount at the first campground they visit. Then, each time they register at a different participating KOA site, the discount increases by 5%, up to 25%, which will be honored by all participating properties until May 25. To find the closest KOA site, check the Yellow Pages or call KOA at (406) 248-7444. The 1995 KOA Directory, Road Atlas and Camping Guide is available free at KOA properties or for $3 (to cover shipping and handling) by writing to KOA Directory, Department SP, P.O. Box 30558, Billings, MT 59114.
