CAMARILLO : Latest Spraying Called a Success
- Share via
Agriculture officials Wednesday termed the latest aerial spraying of the pesticide malathion over eastern Camarillo a success.
The quartet of helicopters left Camarillo Airport at 9 p.m. and completed their spray mission over the 16-square-mile eradication area by about 1 a.m., according to Doug Hendrix, a spokesman for the state and federal Cooperative Medfly Project.
Tuesday’s spray mission was the 11th since the battle against the crop-destroying Mediterranean fruit fly began last fall.
Hendrix said the next spraying is scheduled for 9 p.m. April 25.
