ROUNDUP : Parker Isn’t So Perfect This Time

Lindsay Parker keeps getting better and better.
Parker, a senior pitcher for the La Canada High softball team, pitched her third no-hitter of the season Thursday and second in as many days, striking out 15 batters in a 12-0 Rio Hondo League victory over Monrovia.
Parker, who will attend Fresno State in the fall, hurled a perfect game with 15 strikeouts Wednesday against San Marino.
Parker, who has 25 no-hitters in her career with the Spartans (12-1, 5-0), also hit a two-run homer. She didn’t walk a batter but hit one.
Thousand Oaks 1, Newbury Park 0--Sophomore Jennifer Sharron pitched a four-hitter with three strikeouts for the Lancers (8-5-1, 5-3) in a Marmonte League game at Newbury Park.
Kristen Combe scored from second base on a error in the third.
Hart 5, Canyon 4--Kim Wrinkle drove in Jennie Nordhagen in the seventh inning with a sacrifice fly to give the Indians (12-2, 3-0) a Foothill League victory at Hart.
Crystl Bustos, academically ineligible since the start of the season, returned to the Canyon lineup and hit a homer in her first at-bat.
Westlake 3, Agoura 2--Kelly DeArman and Kathy Davie each had two hits, and DeArman pitched a four-hitter with eight strikeouts for the Warriors (13-3, 6-2) in a Marmonte League game.
Camarillo 12, Channel Islands 0--Sophomore Brooke Rutschman pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts for the Scorpions (12-2, 7-1) in her first Marmonte League start.
Crescenta Valley 11, Pasadena 0--Danielle Ferreira pitched her second no-hitter of the season in a Pacific League game shortened to five innings by the 10-run rule.
Reseda 9, Canoga Park 1--Brenda Lomeli had a solo home run in the fourth inning of a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Reseda.
Jayme Rebbeck had a two-run single in the first inning for the Regents (15-0, 7-0).
HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
Grant 10, North Hollywood 0--Adam Frank extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a three-run triple for the Lancers (5-11, 4-5) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game.
City Section batting leader Walter Rios was hit by a pitch above the eye in the second inning and was taken to a hospital. X-rays were negative.
Monroe 9, Reseda 3--David Lusk hit a three-run homer to cap a five-run seventh inning for the Vikings in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Reseda.
Wayne Nix (6-2) recorded nine strikeouts to bring his season total to 78 for Monroe (11-7, 7-2).
El Camino Real 12, Taft 1--Marvin Jones hit his second and third home runs and finished with five RBIs for the Conquistadores (12-6-1) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.
Kennedy 8, San Fernando 5--The Golden Cougars (15-3, 7-2), ranked No. 1 in The Times’ area poll, rallied for four runs in the seventh inning of a Northwest Valley Conference game.
George Kassis had three hits and drove in three runs for Kennedy.
San Fernando (9-9, 3-6) scored five runs in the first inning.
Alemany 16, Arroyo Grande 6--Bill Scott and Robbie Rehfeld each hit his fifth home run for the Indians (10-6) in the first round of the San Luis Obispo tournament.
Montclair Prep 21, Pasadena Poly 2--Brandon Michaels had three hits and five RBIs for the Mounties (12-5) in a nonleague game.
COLLEGE BASEBALL
Canyons 9, Pierce 3--Bobby Cowan went the distance, striking out five and giving up 11 hits for the Cougars (15-23, 10-9) in a Western State Conference game.
Pierce dropped to 17-16, 12-6.
Ventura 15, Oxnard 9--Johnny Olivares was five for five and drove in four runs to pace a 17-hit attack for the Cougars (19-14-1, 11-8) in a WSC North Division game.
Olivares delivered a two-run double in the seventh. Brandon Knight was three for four.
Cal Lutheran 10, Concordia 9--Ray Arvizu hit a home run in the bottom of the 11th inning for the Kingsmen in a nonconference game at Cal Lutheran.
Kirk Fellows hit a solo homer for the Kingsmen (18-10) in the seventh.
Derek Bly hit a grand slam in the eighth for Concordia (15-24) to tie the game, 9-9.
Bakersfield 8, Valley 4--Jake Freeman hit a two-run home run to cap a six-hit, six-run fourth inning for the Renegades in a WSC game at Valley College.
The Monarchs (9-23-1, 5-13) got 5 2/3 innings of strong relief from their bullpen, which gave up one run and struck out eight.
UC Riverside 5, The Master’s 3--Matt Huter and Derek Bell each had two hits and an RBI for the Mustangs (17-17) in a nonconference game at Master’s.
