Procter & Gamble Sues Simi Firm, Alleges Infringement

A Simi Valley cosmetics firm, Kilmartin Enterprises Inc., has been sued by giant Procter & Gamble Co. for allegedly infringing on P & G’s Oil of Olay package designs and trademarks.
P & G, based in Cincinnati, earlier this month filed an action in U. S. District Court in New York seeking a restraining order that would prevent Kilmartin from selling any more of its Oil of Love product.
P & G claims that Oil of Love’s package looks too much like that of Oil of Olay. The lawsuit also demands unspecified monetary damages and a recall of Oil of Love.
The Associated Press said no one was available at the Simi Valley firm’s headquarters to comment on the lawsuit. An employee who answered the phone refused to identify himself, the news service said.
