On Assignment Posts 38% Profit Increase

On Assignment, a Calabasas-based temporary staff agency, said its earnings for the first quarter ending March 31 were up 38%, to $890,000 from $643,000 a year ago. Revenues for the first quarter were $13.97 million, up 35% from $10.34 million the same period last year.
The company attributed the gain to growth in its lab-support and finance-support units.
