THOUSAND OAKS : Broken Cable Traps Ferris Wheel Riders

The last Ferris wheel ride of the night Friday at Conejo Valley Days lasted longer than anticipated for several passengers.
A cable snapped on the ride, rendering it inoperable and trapping an undetermined number of people high above the fairgrounds in Thousand Oaks, a Ventura County Fire Department official said.
The department dispatched a ladder truck about 9 p.m. to help stranded riders down. No injuries were reported.
