‘Eco-Industrial’ Parks to Be Discussed: UC San Diego will host a seminar titled “Designing, Financing and Building the Industrial Park of the Future” on Thursday and Friday at the Institute of the Americas building on the university campus. Co-sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Research Triangle Institute of North Carolina, it will present preliminary results of a study of “eco-industrial” park models and the economic and environmental benefits that would accrue to the developments targeted for the U.S.-Mexico border area. Tenants in such parks would exchange and reuse waste and materials. A fee will be charged for those attending.
