SEASON AT A GLANCE: The two-time Marmonte League Most Valuable Player has been practically untouchable this season, winning all 45 of his sets, 28 by scores of 6-0. Since losing his first two sets as a freshman at Westlake, Varvais has won 112 consecutive sets in Marmonte League play, mostly at No. 1 singles. He transferred to Royal this season.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: He started by sweeping three sets in a nonleague match against Camarillo and ended it by winning the boys’ interscholastic singles division of the prestigious Ojai Valley Tennis Championships. Varvais beat Adam Webster of Santa Barbara in the final, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
