Ed Bavaria Named Deputy President of Douglas Aircraft: The retired vice president and general manager of airline marketing for General Electric Aircraft Engines will join the McDonnell Douglas commercial aircraft division later this month. Bob Hood, president of the Long Beach-based company, said Bavaria will share responsibility for management and “provide a strong focus on our marketing efforts and opportunities.” Hood said Bavaria, 62, will act as his spokesman during any absence. Bavaria retired from General Electric in April, 1993.
