Atty. Gen. Dan Lungren is scheduled as the guest speaker at a $100-a-plate Republican fund-raising dinner on June 1 at the North Ranch Country Club in Thousand Oaks.
The event, which will feature a musical review from a professional song and dance company, is sponsored by the newly revived Lincoln Club of Ventura County.
“I would like to see us raise $30,000,” said Klara Katersky, a Westlake real estate businesswoman and president of the club. “It costs a lot of money to put on dinners like this.”
Katersky believes she can attract 250 to 300 people to the dinner, which will raise political cash for local and state GOP candidates.
“We are seeing more and more people moving to Ventura County who are substantial businessmen and women,” Katersky said. “They are accustomed to being entertained and willing to pay for it.”
In January, Katersky took over the Lincoln Club, which was founded a few years ago by Ventura County Republican Chairman Bob Larkin of Simi Valley. Katersky said the club now has 25 members who have paid $500 in dues.
