PREP ROUNDUP : Foothill Tops Canyon to Finish Unbeaten in League Tennis

Key performances from Ryan Thompson and Joost Hol at singles and Rob Claus and Lance Stern at doubles sparked fifth-ranked Foothill to a 13-5 victory over Canyon in the Century League finale at Foothill High.
Thompson swept, 6-2, 6-1, 6-1, to finish the regular season 32-1. Hol, a freshman, swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, to finish 41-1 for the Century League champions (18-1, 10-0).
Claus and Stern, undefeated in league and 52-2 overall, swept, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0.
In other Century League tennis:
El Modena 13, Orange 5--Frank Gaulden won, 7-5, 7-5, 6-2, for El Modena (8-8, 3-7).
Villa Park 18, Santa Ana Valley 0--Ryan Hollis swept his singles sets, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0, and teammate B.K. Chang swept his singles sets, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, in a blowout for Villa Park (17-3, 8-2).
In the Sea View League golf finals:
Craig is medalist--Santa Margarita’s Kelly Craig shot a 73 to finish at six-over 150 at Temecula Creek.
In Pacific Coast League boys’ volleyball:
Laguna Beach 3, Laguna Hills 0--Top-ranked Laguna Beach clinched its eighth consecutive league title with a 15-2, 15-7, 15-1 victory. Dan Styles had 15 kills for the Artists (14-1, 8-1).
