NORTHRIDGE : $3.5 Million Needed for YMCA Center
- Share via
The North Valley Family YMCA is hoping to raise about $3.5 million to build a new 30,000-square-foot facility in Northridge.
The facility would include an indoor swimming pool, a youth gymnasium, a community meeting room, and an infant and child care center.
The 3.4 acres on which the facility would be located is on Corbin Avenue just north of the Simi Valley Freeway. It was donated to the YMCA by the Porter Ranch Development Co. Among the programs to be instituted at the Northridge site are aerobics, first-aid training, fitness for seniors, karate and back therapy. The indoor pool will also be used for arthritis aqua-fit classes and lap swimming.
About $1.2 million has been raised for the project so far.
