The Westlake High baseball team remained the Marmonte League’s third and final playoff entry after an emergency meeting of league representatives Monday afternoon. The league representatives voted 5-3 to uphold the tie-breaker decision the group reached Saturday morning, said Camarillo principal Terry Tackett, Marmonte League president.
The meeting was held because of a protest by Simi Valley, which was excluded from the playoffs. Royal, Westlake, Simi Valley and Camarillo finished in a four-way tie for second place. Based on the league’s tie-breaker procedures, Royal finished second and Westlake and Simi Valley tied for third. Westlake was chosen as the third playoff entry after a coin toss.
