SCC Softball Team Gets NAIA Bid

The Southern California College softball team received an at-large berth in the NAIA national championship tournament in Columbia, Mo.
The Vanguards (41-20) are seeded seventh in the 16-team double-elimination tournament and will play Belmont (Tenn.) in the first round Thursday. Belmont is 36-12.
Hawaii Pacific, which Friday beat SCC for the NAIA Far West Regional title, is seeded third. Oklahoma City (44-9) is No. 1.
