VATICAN CITY : On the Road Again
Pope John Paul II takes his wanderlust and a gimpy right leg abroad once again Saturday for a three-day visit to the Czech Republic that will include a side trip to some southern towns of his Polish homeland.
His journey begins in Prague and moves Sunday to the provincial city of Olomouc, where the Pope will canonize a Roman Catholic priest slain by Protestants in the religious wars of the 17th Century. On Monday, John Paul visits three nearby Polish towns.
Beginning two days after John Paul’s 75th birthday, the trip is the second of six foreign trips he has scheduled for 1995 despite a leg injured in a fall and not fully healed following surgery.
