Consumer Portfolio Nets $6.7 Million as Revenue Doubles

Consumer Portfolio Services Inc., an Irvine automotive loan company, reported profit of $6.7 million, or $1.11 a share, for the fiscal year ended March 31. That contrasts with a net loss of $1.8 million, or 42 cents a share, for the prior year, which included a onetime, non-cash charge of $6.5 million resulting from the release from escrow of 600,000 shares of the company’s common stock. Annual revenue more than doubled to $22.5 million, from $10.4 million for the prior year.
