LAGUNA NIGUEL — Furon Co., a fabricator of industrial components, said Tuesday that it has sold its custom rubber components manufacturing plant in Sunnyvale to Performance Polymer Technologies for an undisclosed sum.
Performance Polymer, a company formed recently by a group of managers formerly employed by Furon, plans to continue operations at the site and serve the same customer base.
Furon officials said the sale would allow the company to focus on producing health care components that require “clean-room” fabrication, which is production done with exacting care given to maintaining a sterile environment.
