Simi’s Quake Debris Collection Program to End in June

A Simi Valley program that has collected more than 75,000 tons of earthquake debris will be shut down at the end of June.
The city has extended the popular program several times to accommodate homeowners still making repairs from the Jan. 17, 1994, earthquake.
The program is provided free to Simi Valley residents. Its nearly $1.9-million cost is being paid entirely with state and federal emergency funds.
Until June 30, residents may continue to take their quake debris to the collection site at the corner of Tapo Canyon Road and Alamo Street in Simi Valley.
