Deputies Arrest Murder Suspect

A two-day search for a Moorpark man suspected in the slaying of one of his roommates ended Thursday when Ventura County sheriff’s deputies found the man wandering naked in Fillmore.
Michael Baity, 23, was arrested shortly after 12:30 p.m. in county territory south of Piru. He was taken to the Ventura County Regional Medical Center, then to the Ventura County Jail where he was booked on suspicion of murder. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Police had been searching for Baity since Tuesday when Fernando Fierro, 54, was found dead in his Moorpark home, apparently stabbed to death with a kitchen knife. A second roommate, Laurette Zabriskie, found Fierro and called the Sheriff’s Department.
