HUNTINGTON BEACH : Pier Duck-A-Thon Will Benefit Clinic
- Share via
About 3,000 rubber ducks will be tossed off the end of the municipal pier Saturday at the city’s third annual Duck-A-Thon. The first 35 ducks to reach shore will win prizes for their sponsors, who pay $10 apiece to launch them.
The event raises money for the Huntington Beach Community Clinic, which provides low-cost medical treatment. Last year’s Duck-A-Thon raised about $25,000 for the clinic, which used the donation to build three pediatric rooms. This year’s proceeds will go toward furnishing and equipping those rooms.
For more information about the event, which will begin at 12:30 p.m., call Pat Davis at (714) 374-1951.
