Baxter to Sell Lab Supply Unit: VWR Corp., a distributor of laboratory equipment and chemicals, said it will acquire Baxter International Inc.’s Industrial & Life Sciences division for about $400 million in cash. Baxter, of Deerfield, Ill., said the division, which distributes chemicals, lab supplies and other equipment, had sales of more than $450 million last year. VWR, based in West Chester, Pa., had sales of $535.2 million last year.
