ANAHEIM — Rockwell International Corp. said Wednesday that its North American Aircraft Modification division in Anaheim will design a new cockpit electronics system for the Czech air force.
The value of the first phase of the contract, which lasts for the next 30 months, is $18.6 million. Over the entire length of the 6 1/2-year contract, Rockwell expects to generate revenue of more than $100 million, two spokesmen for the division said.
Rockwell will be responsible for the design, development and laboratory testing of an avionics system in a prototype light attack L-159 aircraft manufactured by Aero Vodochody in the Czech Republic.
The Czech Republic is expected to buy 72 of the L-159 aircraft.
