Home Depot Scales Back Mexico Expansion Plans: The Atlanta-based retailer of home improvement products said it is postponing expansion plans in Mexico until at least 1997 and will build only half as many stores as planned in Canada next year. Home Depot Inc. has been reconsidering its plans for Mexico since the peso’s value plunged in December, said Marshall Day, senior vice president of finance.
