The Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center of Orange County will offer training for Spanish-speaking volunteer parent aides in a special session Saturday.
Aides will be trained to help Latino families in homes where an incident of child abuse has occurred or is at risk of occurring. The volunteers will act as role models, offering parents guidance in child development and care and positive parenting.
Parents and others who want to learn more about child development and constructive discipline are welcome to attend, even if they are unable to volunteer. All classes are taught by qualified Spanish-speaking caseworkers.
The free training session will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the center, 2482 Newport Blvd., Suite 7, Costa Mesa. Information: (714) 722-1107 or (714) 449-7888.
