Los Angeles police on Tuesday identified a reputed gang member who was shot to death over the weekend on the streets of Canoga Park as Rogelio Ferman.
According to witnesses, Ferman, 23, was trying on Sunday to elude a pursuing Honda when he crashed his Nissan Maxima into a light pole near Winnetka Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard, Detective Rick Swanston said. Ferman was killed moments later when two men got out of the Honda and gunned him down as he sat in his car.
Sothol Roeng, 22, of Van Nuys; Ha Khanh Truong, 19, of Milpitas, and Tuan Anh Hoang, 19, of San Jose, were arrested after the shooting on suspicion of murder, police said. A passenger riding in Ferman’s car at the time of the crash, who was being sought by police after he fled the scene, has been identified as Ricardo Vega Hernandez, 23, of Canoga Park.
No charges have been filed against Hernandez, Swanston said.
