The Conejo Valley Tuesday captured the Little League Baseball Senior Division sectional all-star championship with a 9-1 victory over Northridge.
Conejo Valley rallied for seven runs with two out in the top of the fifth inning. Robbie Cassel keyed the outburst with a three-run double to right-center field. Ryan Cope added two hits, and pitcher Dave Perry added a run-scoring double and threw a three-hitter, allowing no earned runs and striking out six and walking three.
Conejo Valley (10-1), which hasn’t lost since its first game, will open state divisional play in the 14-15 age group Saturday at 11 a.m. in Yucaipa against the San Diego County champion. Northridge starter Tim Leveque threw four shutout innings. Northridge finished 6-2.
