Chip Maker to Increase Production: Texas Instruments Inc. plans to boost its production in Japan of computer chips, a spokesman said. Masahiko Miki said the company is debating how much to spend, but he would not confirm a newspaper report that it plans to invest about $1.72 billion by the end of the decade to expand production. Texas Instruments Japan Ltd. has four semiconductor factories.
