Elaine S. Sandefur, a longtime Ojai resident and nurse, died at home Thursday. She was 76.
Mrs. Sandefur was a registered nurse for 45 years, working in most of the hospitals in Ventura County. She was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross and the Adult Literacy and was a member of the League of Women Voters.
She is survived by three sons, Chris Sandefur and Jim Sandefur of Ojai and Kent Sandefur of Ventura; a daughter, Mary Orozco of Ojai; three sisters, Jane Bickford, Doris Smith and Susan Sherman; and a brother, Robert Jensen.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Ojai at 10 a.m. Monday. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai.
