No Way to ‘NoHo’; Try ‘Lankershim’ Instead
- Share via
* What a great chance you have to stir up some interest in what could become a popular section of Los Angeles. I was so glad to learn that other citizens hate the name “NoHo” and resent the fact that it was imposed on us without our input. It has a negative sound--like “no” to North Hollywood.
Why not have a contest and invite all the citizens of Los Angeles to submit names? After all, North Hollywood is a part of Los Angeles, just as Valley Village is a part of North Hollywood.
Those of us who live in the East Valley are interested in developing the Lankershim section. I am especially interested in the visual arts and visit the Lankershim Art Center for most exhibits.
Rather that call it “NoHo,” I would rather hear it called “Lankershim” or the “North Hollywood Art Colony.” Someone will surely come up with a better name than “NoHo.”
