Man, Shot 3 Times in Argument, Dies

SANTA ANA — A Santa Ana man shot three times and critically wounded after an argument died from his injuries at Western Medical Center, Santa Ana Police Sgt. Dick Faust said Sunday.
Juan Manuel Sanchez, 18, was shot twice in the head and once in the back allegedly by a man who may have thought Sanchez was deliberately revving his car engine too loudly early Friday morning.
Sanchez was returning from a party to celebrate his birthday and had dropped off a brother in the 1400 block of Ross Street. A resident, not identified by police, began arguing with Sanchez.
Police said Sanchez left to drop off another brother and then drove back past the area of the argument about 3 a.m. The man was still there.
Sanchez slowed down and the argument resumed. Witnesses told police they heard gunshots and ran out to find Sanchez. He had been shot twice in the head and once in the back.
He died in the hospital Saturday afternoon. No suspects are in custody and the matter is under investigation.
