Vietnam

Regarding Jeffrey Record’s article about those who didn’t serve in Vietnam (Commentary, July 26), I believe that Pat Buchanan and Rush Limbaugh can be added to the list of those who chose not to go. What President Clinton did required at least a certain degree of bravery; he believed that the war in Vietnam was one in which we didn’t belong. As we now know, he was right. On the other hand, great anti-Communist hawks were willing to let others spill their blood fighting communism as long as they were safely home.
