Man Robs Bank; No Weapon Used
A man robbed Wells Fargo Bank near South Coast Plaza on Monday.
About 3:20 p.m., the robber slipped a note to the bank teller demanding money, Police Sgt. George Yezbick said. No weapon was seen, he said, and the amount of money taken was not disclosed.
The man tucked the cash into a money belt under his shirt, retrieved the note and left the bank in the 3400 block of Bristol Street, Yezbick said.
Witnesses said the robber was wearing a dark shirt and a black baseball cap with a red design.
He is described as a 6-foot-tall Caucasian, mid- to late 20s, with a mustache and a medium complexion and build.
