PALMDALE — A 17-year-old Lancaster resident was killed Monday when the car in which she was a passenger made a left turn into an oncoming pickup truck, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.
The girl, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was a passenger in a Plymouth traveling west on Palmdale Boulevard about 3:30 a.m., Sgt. Bob Denham said.
The car turned onto 35th Street East in front of an oncoming pickup, which rammed the auto and sent it spinning into another car stopped at a traffic light, Denham said.
The other two occupants of the Plymouth were in serious condition at Desert Palms Hospital, Denham said.
Neither the driver of the pickup, Patrick Moakley, 42, of Leona Valley, nor of the other car, Jose Hernandez, 39, of Palmdale, was injured.
