OXNARD : Teen-Ager, Infant Rescued From Fire
- Share via
An alert neighbor saved a teen-ager and her infant sibling Tuesday when an electrical failure led to a blaze that damaged their single-story Oxnard home.
The fire, which caused about $130,000 in damage, burned the roof, attic and walls and caused extensive smoke damage, said Terry McAnally, Oxnard fire battalion chief.
Neighbor Fabio Allodoli saw the fire and pulled 14-year-old Akiska Shox and a 1-month-old baby from the house at 1100 Rachel Drive, McAnally said.
Allodoli was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
Six fire engines responded to the 2:08 p.m. fire, which took 45 minutes to extinguish.
