SAN FRANCISCO — An unattended cable car that rolled out of a storage yard collided with a packed cable car Thursday, injuring seven people, including a man whose feet were pinned between the two cars, authorities said.
The man remained conscious as an emergency team took 90 minutes to cut through the body of a cable car to free his feet from the point of impact between the two cars, witnesses said.
“The cars couldn’t be moved or they would have done him further injury,” said Alan Siegel, a spokesman of the San Francisco Municipal Railway.
