Update / Follow-up on the news : NEWPORT BEACH : Night Club Receives Extension on Permit
- Share via
The Thunderbird night club in Lido Marina Village has won another extension of its operating permit.
The club had been the subject of neighbors’ complaints about noise and rowdiness. The City Council revoked the business’s permit in June, 1994, but allowed new management time to remedy the situation.
The council started the revocation earlier this year, saying it would consider limiting the business to restaurant operations only.
At the request of Thunderbird attorney Michael Montgomery, the council this week postponed a hearing scheduled for Tuesday so that club owners Greg Mulholland and David Ariss complete a new operating plan.
Mulholland and Ariss said they will submit a new operating plan by Aug. 28. The council will then conduct a final review Sept. 25.
