Central Los Angeles : MAN KILLED DURING ROBBERY

A 38-year-old man was shot to death as he tried to escape a street robbery in South-Central Los Angeles. Businessman Julian De Santiago and his nephew Alfredo De Santiago, 21, were walking to their car from a boxing gym near Broadway and 108th Street when two men approached them about 8:30 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles Police Detective Charles Merritt said.
When the gunmen demanded money, the elder De Santiago turned to flee but was shot.
