Hispanic Heritage Month

WASHINGTON — President Clinton on Thursday designated the next four weeks as National Hispanic Heritage Month. In a proclamation, Clinton urged government officials, educators and the public to observe the four-week period beginning today with celebrations that emphasize the role of Latino culture in American society. National Hispanic Heritage Month runs through Oct. 15.
