It took Conners, from Capistrano Valley High, one game to accomplish much of what it took him eight games to do last season. Conners had nine catches for 211 yards and two touchdowns as Saddleback lost to Long Beach, 35-31, Saturday. His touchdown receptions were for 66 and 30 yards. Saddleback was a bit more run-oriented last season as Conners had 11 catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

* Orange Coast, Freshman. He became the first OCC player to block two punts in a game, returning one for a touchdown, but the Pirates lost to Cerritos, 28-14.
