Scruffy the cat slept late Thursday morning. No wonder. She had quite a night Wednesday.
What with all those sledgehammers and pickaxes tearing apart a retaining wall she was wedged in, Scruffy must have wondered what was worse, her predicament or the racket. By 3:30 a.m., the feline was freed and none the worse for wear, reported her owner, Scott Mitchell of North Hollywood.
Mitchell said he knew something was amiss when the always hungry cat failed to come home for dinner.
