Harry Olander III; Hotel Executive

Harry Olander III, a Ventura resident and controller for the Doubletree Hotel, died Thursday. He was 41.
Olander was born April 10, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College in Vermont and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa national honors society.
Olander worked in the hotel industry for 14 years and moved to Ventura County three years ago. Off the job, Olander was a pianist and a lover of books.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Olander of Glendale, Ariz., and his brother, Kurt Olander of Misawa, Japan.
Services are tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Garcia Mortuary of Oxnard.
