Alive to Thank Alert Motorists

* We wanted to express our thanks to God and to all the wonderful motorists who were on Interstate 5 northbound into Burbank on Sept. 22. We are alive today because of you.
I am 80 years old and my wife is 73. We were on our way to a dinner for senior citizens at the Jocelyn Center in Burbank that Friday afternoon at about 4:40 p.m. when our compact car was sideswiped by a large semi-truck. Traffic was moving at more than 55 m.p.h., and the collision sent my car into a spin across all five lanes of the freeway. When I finally brought my car under control, my wife and I were facing hundreds of vehicles in oncoming traffic because we had come to rest in the wrong direction. To our amazement, everyone stopped! The entire freeway was at a standstill.
Freeway collisions are so common, but all the drivers found a way to safely stop without hitting us, our car or each other. Other than the terrible damage done to our car, we are alive and well today because of the miracle you participated in. We were even able to attend our dinner that night.
What a story we had to tell! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
