ANAHEIM : Council to Discuss Career Center Plans

Plans to start a high-tech “one-stop career center” to serve the unemployed will be among the items discussed today by the City Council.

The state Employment Development Department has awarded Anaheim a $600,000 job-training grant to establish the center, which is scheduled to be in full operation by January at 50 S. Anaheim Blvd.

Among the services offered will be a computer system that links job seekers with governmental agencies, colleges and universities and job-training vendors.
