PREP FOOTBALL / PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE : Nemeth Leads Aliso Niguel Past Costa Mesa

NEWPORT BEACH — Junior Scott Nemeth threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Aliso Niguel to a 34-12 victory over Costa Mesa in Pacific Coast League game Thursday night at Newport Harbor High.
The Wolverines (5-2, 1-1) punted on their first two possessions, but scored on five of their next six.
After Ray Ohrel’s one-yard run gave Costa Mesa (4-3, 1-1) a 6-0 lead on its first possession, Nemeth hit Andrew Mashburn on touchdown passes of 50 and six yards. Nick Gerasimou added two short touchdown runs and Aliso Niguel led, 27-6, at the half.
Nemeth, who completed seven of eight passes for 107 yards, scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
Ohrel led the Mustangs with 134 yards rushing in 24 carries.
