Countywide : Public Hearing Set on Phone Regulations
- Share via
To ensure basic phone service for low-income residents when local service is deregulated Jan. 1, state officials have proposed several new regulations.
The proposals are for rates, levels of service and methods of financing that would apply to new and existing telephone companies to ensure affordable access to phone service.
Public comment on the proposals is invited at a hearing Oct. 30 at the Garden Grove Community Center. The meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at 11300 Stanford Ave., is one of 13 statewide sponsored by the California Public Utilities Commission.
For more information, call the commission’s public adviser’s office at (213) 897-3544.
