Lake Forest Girl, 9, Raped at Park; Suspect Sought

LAKE FOREST — Police were looking Sunday for a man who pulled a 9-year-old Lake Forest girl into the bushes of Serrano Creek Community Park on Saturday and raped her.
The girl was walking home alone on a sidewalk bordering the park about 7 p.m. Saturday when the rapist grabbed her, Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Rich Paddock said.
Immediately after the sexual assault, the rapist released the girl, who ran home to report the incident to her parents. She lives near the park, Paddock said.
Police launched a search for the suspect Saturday, using both a helicopter and bloodhounds, and still were investigating the incident Sunday, Paddock said.
The suspect was described as white, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He is believed to be in his 20s and has shoulder-length dark hair.
