Guard Plock Commits to Cal State Fullerton

Dane Plock, a 6-foot-1 point guard at Estancia, has orally committed to Cal State Fullerton.
Plock averaged seven points, 4four assists and 3.6 steals in helping Estancia (25-4) reach the Southern Section Division II-A semifinals. He plans to sign with the Titans on Nov. 8, the first day of the early signing period for high school seniors.
Plock, who was an All-Pacific Coast League selection last season, also considered the San Diego. He transferred to Estancia after his freshman year at Mater Dei.

Cypress girls’ Athletic Director Kathie Maier named new girls’ basketball and softball coaches Thursday.
Doug Mitchell takes over for John Selbe as the girls’ basketball coach. Mitchell, a boys’ junior varsity coach for five years, is taking his first varsity job. A walk-on coach, he previously coached girls on a youth level.
Maier also said Diane Lewis has been hired to replace Diane Pohl as the softball coach.
