Jail-a-Thon to Raise Cancer Society Funds

If you know someone who has been mixing business with pleasure or working too hard, you can have them “arrested” during a Jail-a-Thon sponsored by the American Cancer Society on Nov. 7 and 8.
The event will raise money for the fight against cancer by collecting $10 from anyone who turns in a friend. Those arrested will be taken to “jail.”
The jailbirds then will be granted as many phone calls as it takes to raise their designated bail, which also will go to the organization. Proceeds from the event will expand services to cancer patients and their families and support research and education programs.
