L.A. Baptist 28, Marshall 13--Chris Ross rushed 32 times for 202 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Knights at Alemany High. It was the third consecutive 200-yard rushing performance by Ross.
L.A. Baptist (3-5, 3-0) opened the scoring on its first possession on John Wilson’s 34-yard run.
After Marshall (0-7-1, 0-3) took the lead, 7-6, on a five-yard run by Jason Harris, L.A. Baptist recaptured the lead with nine seconds left in the half when Wilson hit Josh Highsmith on a 40-yard halfback option pass.
Ross capped a four-play, 33-yard drive early in the third quarter with a 19-yard touchdown run. He also made a reception for the two-point conversion.
